Mark Rawlins – new Group Partner at Hatstone

Hatstone Lawyers are pleased to announce the appointment to group partner of Mark Rawlins. Mark will be based in Hatstone’s Jersey office. He specialises in investment fundscorporate and commercial, banking and finance and M&A, for a variety of clients including mega funds, start ups, holding companies, and business and family offices. Mark provides both Jersey and Cayman Islands advice for his clients, covering transactional matters, dispute resolution and regulatory advice. He is a frequent speaker and contributor of articles to the business community.

Hatstone appoints two Group Partners

Hatstone is delighted to announce that Daléne Botha and Bennie Burger have been promoted to Group Partners. Daléne is based at Hatstone’s South Africa office whilst Bennie is based at the Jersey office.

The appointments bring the number of partners to nine globally.

Daléne specialises in corporate and commercial, private client and collective investment funds. She has a particular interest in cross border structuring and regularly advises ultra high-net-worth families on effective structures for asset protection and succession planning.

Bennie specialises in corporate and commercial, private wealth, trust law, banking and finance, and alternative dispute resolution. Bennie is admitted to practise as solicitor in England & Wales, Anguilla in the British West Indies and as an attorney in South Africa with higher rights. He has significant experience in cross border acquisitions, dispositions, joint ventures and financing transactions and advises a wide range of companies, banks and private clients. In addition to his transactional practice, Bennie advises boards of directors and senior management on a broad range of governance, compliance, and other sensitive matters. He also works closely with top law firms in London, the British Virgin Islands, Mauritius, South Africa and Botswana.

Hatstone names two new Partners

Hatstone is delighted to announce that Advocate Stephen Wauchope and Alvaro Almengor have been promoted to Partner, bringing the total number of partners in the Hatstone Group to six.

Alvaro Almengor is a well-regarded Panamanian lawyer specialising in civil, commercial, employment and administrative law and Panamanian tax. Alvaro will work with Group Partner Lizst Real to further develop the Group’s Panamanian legal practice.

Advocate Stephen Wauchope is a practical, resolution-focused litigator who specialises in trust disputes, employment law, regulatory advice, general commercial litigation and insurance risks. Stephen will head up the firm’s Jersey litigation practice.

We are delighted to announce that both Carol-Ann Le Boutillier and Bennie Burger have recently been promoted to senior associate. Both Carol-Ann and Bennie have made valuable contributions to our business since joining the firm.

Carol-Ann specialises in private wealth, family office, trusts and foundations. She has a particular interest in family office solutions with a corporate and commercial slant. Her clients include private family offices, local trust companies and entrepreneurs.

Bennie focuses on corporate and commercial, private wealth, banking and alternative dispute resolution.
