Alvaro specializes in civil, commercial, employment and administrative law and Panamanian tax. Alvaro holds a Panama practising certificate. He advises international clients with regard to cross border transactions and offshore structures and provides local Panamanian legal and tax advice to both international and local businesses and high net worth families and individuals.

Career

Alvaro is a Panamanian lawyer with over 10 years’ legal experience in corporate and taxation law.

In 2005, Alvaro qualified as a lawyer with distinctions at the University of Panama and received his MBA in Finance in 2010 at National Cheng Kung University in Taiwan.

Alvaro is also a qualified accountant having graduated with distinction from the University of Panama in 2017.

He has been guest speaker at conferences relating to investment and commercial law in Panama, Brazil, Paraguay, Bolivia and Nicaragua.

He has published various articles in the relation to economics and taxation such as: “Panama’s Sovereign Rating”; “Municipal Tax Collection for Road Construction Projects”; “Analysis of Defence Mechanisms for Information Exchange Requests”; “Creation of The National Public Revenue Authority”; and “Forensic Audit Practices in Panama”.

Alvaro is fluent in Spanish and English and has basic knowledge of French and Mandarin.

Alvaro enjoys spending time with his family, reading science and history books and listening to instrumental music.
