Personal Information

Julie is head of our Banking and Finance team in Dublin and has in excess of 17 years’ experience acting for a broad range of lenders and borrowers in connection with a wide variety of banking transactions, specialising in real estate development financing, loan portfolio acquisitions and disposals.

Julie has a unique and in-depth understanding of the real estate finance market which has been developed through her role advising on many large-scale real estate finance transactions.

She also has extensive experience in relation to restructuring, workouts and pre-enforcement strategies for lenders.

Her client base to date includes pillar lenders, developers, alternative lenders, landlords, independent financiers and receivers.


Julie joined Hatstone as a Partner in 2021 from a well-established commercial law firm in Dublin. Having started her career at a leading international law firm, Julie gained invaluable experience in medium and large scale real estate finance transactions.

From 2012- 2018, Julie went on to hone her skills at a boutique practice in Dublin, advising her lender clients on all types of facilities involving site acquisition finance, construction finance, leveraged buy-outs and acquisitions, loan-on-loan financing, mezzanine financing, priorities and inter-lender arrangements, secured and non-secured facilities.

She also worked as Senior Legal Counsel in one of Ireland’s pillar banks, reporting to the Commercial Business Management team on a wide variety of legal advices.

In 2004, Julie was admitted to the Roll of Solicitors of the Law Society of Ireland. She is also a member of the Law Society of England and Wales, the Institute of Banking of Ireland and the Association of Compliance Officers in Ireland.

Julie holds Law Society of Ireland diplomas in Banking, Finance and Securities Law; Aviation Leasing and Finance; Commercial Conveyancing; and a Certificate in Compliance and Regulation of Financial Service Providers.
