Maybe is a Panamanian lawyer and the head of the firm’s tax practice. She has over 20 years experience advising on a broad range of private client, corporate and real estate tax matters.
Prior to joining Hatstone, Maybe worked at the Panamanian Administrative Tax Court (Tribunal Administrativo Tributario) where she gained vast experience in relation to taxpayers’ disputes with the Panamanian Tax Authority (Dirección General de Ingresos). She has also worked for many years in the tax department of a top tier Panamanian Tax Law Firm where she developed her tax legal practise and spent 5 years with Pricewaterhouse Coopers.
For business clients, she advises on corporation tax, efficient corporate tax structures and value-added tax.
She advises individuals on inheritance tax and succession planning, income tax, capital gains and the law of domicile and residency, including the tax considerations of becoming a Panamanian resident.
Maybe also handles tax investigations, disputes and tax considerations related to insolvency proceedings.
She ensures that she has a complete understanding of her client’s personal and commercial objectives and strives to meet these in an efficient manner.
