Robert is a US and Commonwealth Caribbean attorney and civil engineer who provides integrated legal and engineering services for project development, complex multi-party construction dispute resolution and proactive dispute avoidance on projects using FIDIC and other forms of general conditions and advise on Public Private Partnerships, design-build finance, horizontal, commercial and residential construction, water treatment plants, docks, onshore and subsea pipelines.
He has served as an attorney, arbitrator, mediator, technical/legal advisor, expert witness and claims consultant before various types of tribunals. He also advises clients in the US and the Caribbean on asserting and defending all types of claims/counterclaims, on settlement strategies with options for risk assessment.
Robert obtained his civil engineering degree from Florida International University in 1989 with honors and in 1994 received a master’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Berkeley in California.
In 2003, he obtained his Juris Doctor from Nova Southeastern University located in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
Presently, Robert works closely on interdisciplinary project teams for employers, contractors, design professionals, surety’s experts and attorneys to develop projects or to avoid and/or to proactively resolve disputes through all phases of project development in the US, Latin America and the Caribbean.
Robert also serves as chairman/member on Dispute Adjudication Boards, Dispute Avoidance Panels Dispute Review Boards, as neutral on arbitration panels and as mediator of construction disputes exclusively. He also conducts hearings on complex construction disputes. .
Robert likes traveling, biking and increasing his knowledge of history. He also enjoys sports and likes to play soccer and golf.
