Mark specialises in investment funds (PE, RE, VC, hedge, etc.), banking and finance, and corporate and commercial law, together with financial services, gaming advice, listings and regulatory law and M&A transactions. His practice encompasses start-ups all the way through to large-scale/multibillion-dollar businesses and includes acting in relation to contested matters. Mark advises on both Jersey and Cayman law matters.

Mark was educated at Cambridge University and then qualified as an English solicitor in 1995 with Linklaters. After an in-house role with Arup (a 13,000-strong professional consultancy for the built environment), Mark then joined Maples and Calder, first in London and then in the Cayman Islands, and became a partner in 2005. He relocated to Jersey in 2011 and has been a group partner with Hatstone Lawyers since 2017, providing strength and depth to the firm’s funds and corporate team.

Mark holds an English law practising certificate.

Mark Rawlins recently (2022) provided the Jersey gambling regulatory advice for the US$1.95bn acquisition by 888 Holdings plc of the William Hill group (non-US assets) from Caesars Entertainment.
